The Salt Lake City library is located in Utah, is one of the most important public libraries in the United States also is an unique architectural work in its class that is characterized by being very transparent in the facades and has a large scale, but I’m going to deal more specifically about their circulation systems.

In terms of vertical circulation, this comes at a key point of the building, which is the central atrium that divides the building in two parts by a large vacuum, in this empty space we can see an elliptical staircase and a glass elevator besides it. Those circulation systems give great importance in the spatial configuration of the building and connect all levels in two vertical axes ranging from the basement to the terrace.

The horizontal circulation of the library begins outside the building, where the approach is given by an elliptical path. The building is marked by a bridge that crosses the path, which gives more character. Once inside the building, the horizontal movement is given by corridors that connect the different wings of the building in each of the two main volumes on the inside of the library. These corridors are curved, making the route more interesting and dynamic.

In my opinion this is a very complete architectural work, as it responds very well to the context in which it is located and architecturally consists of attractive elements.
From the outside of the building you will discover the importance of the horizontal circulation, and once inside this is confirmed and complemented by a vertical circulation system located at a precise point. The Salt Lake City library is a friendly public space that is desirable in any city.
